Skeleten – Viagra

Skeleten (aka Russell Fitzgibbon) has shared “Viagra”, the latest single from his upcoming album “Mentalized”. The track continues his exploration of how modern life and capitalism shape human experience, with Fitzgibbon noting, “Shoutout viagra for being a useful drug for humans but also it makes you think how the deepest parts of what makes you human are transformed by the forces of capital, mentalized.”

The new album, due February 7, 2025, represents a significant evolution in Fitzgibbon’s artistic journey. Following his 2023 debut “Under Utopia”, “Mentalized” delves deeper into consciousness and modern existence questions. The project blends various sonic elements – industrial and nu-metal textures, dreamlike vocals, and abstracted pop arrangements – while maintaining connections to Fitzgibbon’s dance music roots.

As both writer and producer, Skeleten has created a rich sonic universe through a methodical process of slow, meditative development. The album’s title references reality TV “mentalists” but focuses on how media and capital influence us in everyday life. It explores ecological panpsychist thinking, viewing consciousness as fundamental to existence and examining the struggle to maintain authenticity in a post-truth world.
